01 - Sift the matcha powder into a mug or bowl to remove any lumps for a smooth consistency.
02 - Pour in the hot water and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk or small regular whisk until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy.
03 - In a small saucepan, heat the almond milk over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. Alternatively, microwave for 1-2 minutes.
04 - Froth the hot almond milk using a milk frother or whisk until creamy and foamy.
05 - Pour the frothed almond milk over the whisked matcha.
06 - Stir in maple syrup or agave syrup and vanilla extract if using.
07 - Serve immediately, optionally topped with a sprinkle of matcha powder.
