Mango Strawberry Sorbet (Printer-friendly)

Tropical mango meets bright strawberry in this refreshing frozen dessert. Perfectly sweet, tangy, and ideal for hot summer days.

# What You Need:

→ Fruits

01 - 2 large ripe mangoes, peeled and diced (about 2 ½ cups)
02 - 1 cup ripe strawberries, hulled and halved

→ Sweetener

03 - ½ cup granulated sugar (or maple syrup for vegan option)

→ Liquids

04 - ½ cup water
05 - 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

# How to Make It:

01 - Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat gently while stirring until sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
02 - Place diced mangoes, strawberries, cooled simple syrup, and lime juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth and uniform in texture.
03 - Taste the blended mixture and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed by adding more sugar or lime juice to achieve desired flavor balance.
04 - Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Cover tightly and place in freezer for 1 hour to begin setting process.
05 - Remove container from freezer and stir mixture thoroughly with a fork to break up any ice crystals forming at the edges. Return to freezer immediately.
06 - Continue removing from freezer every 30 minutes and stirring with fork for 2–3 hours total, until sorbet reaches firm yet smooth consistency throughout.
07 - Let sorbet stand at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving to soften slightly for easier scooping. Serve in chilled bowls.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The mango and strawberry balance hits that perfect sweet-tangy spot that store-bought versions never quite capture
  • It comes together in literally 15 minutes of active time, then your freezer does all the heavy lifting
02 -
  • I skipped the fork stirring step once and ended up with one giant icy block that took twenty minutes to soften enough to scoop
  • Using fruit that's slightly overripe is actually an advantage here, they blend into a smoother puree than firm fruit
03 -
  • If your mangoes aren't quite sweet enough, a drizzle of honey after blending saves the whole batch
  • Coconut cream adds the most incredible richness, just one tablespoon transforms the whole vibe
