01 - Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
02 - Combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar in a medium saucepan and heat over medium, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves and mixture is hot but not boiling.
03 - Remove saucepan from heat and stir in bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
04 - Incorporate vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
05 - Pour mixture evenly into 4 serving glasses or ramekins.
06 - Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
07 - Serve chilled, optionally adorned with fresh berries or mint sprig.
